WHERE:
Information for Training dogs older than 5 months – Adolescent and Adult Dogs
Beginner’s class is not a course. There is no “time limit” on beginner’s class – both dogs and handlers are individuals and they learn at different paces. You will be advised by the instructor when you are ready to be moved up a training level.
HOW LONG:
Collar and leash or harness and leash or head collar and leash.
Proof of Vaccination (it is mandatory for dogs in South Africa to be vaccinated against Rabies annually – and they should have a booster 5-in-1 vaccination too. If you are not sure whether your dog’s vaccinations are up to date, please check with your veterinarian. A Rabies Titer Test from Onderstepoort is acceptable!
A Poo bag to clean up after your dog if necessary
Good tasty treats (very small pieces of cooked chicken is an excellent choice)
WHAT TO BRING:
We do promote positive re-enforcement training and reward based training.
We do offer further training for those who want to reach a higher level of training and understanding of their canine companion.
We offer clicker training.
Behavior consultations are also available by arrangement.
If your dog is too strong for you to handle, and can actually pull you off your feet or make you fall, please advise us before you come to school so that we can assist you upon your arrival at the school.
